Tom
BICE for Assembly (under construction)
My
name is Tom Bice, and I am running for the 91st
Wisconsin Assembly seat. I believe we live in the greatest state in
America,
and we need to work hard to preserve it. We have great people and
schools, a great environment, and a good business climate.
I am 55 years old and live in rural Trempealeau with my wife, Barbara.
We have been married for 30 years and have two children. Our son, Steve, is
an I.T. Professional in the Twin Cities, and our daughter, Katy, is a math
teacher at La Crescent High School. I have spent most of my
career in my own heating and air conditioning business and crop farming in the
spring and fall.
Barbara Gronemus is not seeking reelection
for this seat, and while I know that it will be difficult to accomplish as much
as she has, I am going to try. The people of this district have a sincere
person "working for you", and I believe that we need someone to follow
her who has the passion to pick up where she will leave off. I have a
great relationship with Representative Gronemus and
have worked with her on several issues. She has courage and stands up for
the people she represents; I will do the same thing.
I had the privilege to work for Senator Ron Brown for a short time as his
Regional Representative. He also worked hard for the people, and voted
many times with his constituents rather than based on party politics. The
people deserve to be heard and represented, and I will do my best to do
that. I am a believer in the Constitution, and I will make all of my
decisions with that in mind instead of bowing to political pressure. The
Constitution is the main reason this country has the longest running democracy
in history.
My first political influence came from President John F. Kennedy, and his
quote, "Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for
your country," is the theme of my campaign. We have to look out for
the people who can not take care of themselves. But those of us who can, must work hard to give this great state proper direction.
We must look out for the future of our children and grandchildren by making
sure that we did our best to pass on a quality standard of living to everyone.
I promise to work tirelessly for the good of the state, in order to
produce the best economy and fairness for everyone. I personally can not
stand to watch some bureaucrat abuse the rights of the citizens, and if there
is any way possible to stop them, I will. I will not be intimidated by
anyone, and if someone in state government tries to violate your Constitutional
rights, I will be there to defend you. We have abuses to our rights that
we have come to accept, especially with private property, and we must make sure
that citizens maintain control of their property. One more of my main
agenda items will be to get fair funding for our schools, which is a very
serious problem and unfair system!
Again, my focus is to ensure the best quality of life that we can. If
you are interested in securing a secure future for Wisconsin, please give me a call or email
me. I would really appreciate your support and vote. It is
extremely important that we make sure to vote in the primary September 9th.
